- Change is in the air

Retrospective (11/11)

Patch #289 J's new wheels

Original Post

It may still be summer in Texas, but here in St Louis the times they are a changin' ...

Even though it has only been five weeks since we were last here, J and J have grown. Today was an especially big day as Jackson got his first "real" bicycle ...

something that required fierce concentration ...

And since J was occupied with his new bike, Jace got to try out J's old strider bike ...

which he thoroughly enjoyed ...

almost as much as playing with pumpkins ...

and running after "cars" ...

Needless to say, we all had a good appetite for dinner ...

Acorn squash stuffed with Italian sausage, apples, celery, onions, garlic, panko crumbs, and cheese, seasoned with rosemary. The perfect Fall dinner.

Ride on young sirs...darling photos of the J's. Remember when my grands shared a bike, competitive as all get out with GrandMa running behind to make sure that the time each spent on the bike was equal!

A cozy and delicious fall dinner. I say cozy because fall and winter dinners just seem to turn out that way...I make something very similar, it is called Harvest stuffed acorn squash and uses lean ground beef, onions, garlic, chopped apple, soy sauce red wine and grated Parmesan cheese.

Liz...so glad you have had the chance to spend time with family and enjoy a lovely autumn meal. Just might try this with the squash we have on hand. Blessings in your travels.

Running indeed ... I've been sleeping extremely well as a result!

Thanks Susan ... as Marti mentioned, there are infinite variations on the acorn squash theme. I'm looking forward to exploring some when we get home!
