Don's already playing around with bits and pieces from yesterday's
Junkology field trip ...
|
Note: the roadrunner is an old adding machine cash register key |
He's definitely got New Mexico on his mind ... and I'd better get some rust dyeing done before he bolts everything down!
Wow. The stuff you and Don find and then make wonderful use of is so inspiring! The garden tool kachina is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you ... we do have fun!
Deletegorgeous! fantastico!
ReplyDeletequestion: does Don sell any of his stuff?
So far he makes things for the house and for gifts ... not to say that he won't hit some critical mass someday and reconsider, but for now your question just makes us both happy that his creativity is appreciated
DeleteWhat an incredibly Creative Eye and Mind to see an adding machine key as a roadrunner...
ReplyDeleteand YES...it IS a roadrunner...clear as day! I also love the katchina, and both well, because
i love old implements, metal things that had such specific purpose and now can become art...
This is GREAT!
Ha! When we were at Junkology, Don held up the adding machine key and said, "Do you see a roadrunner?" And you're right, it really was clear as day! I can only imagine what folks think as we walk around holding stuff up for each other (when we find a good place, we usually circle at least two or three times, so it takes a while).
DeleteAnd I'm so glad that the internet gremlins finally let you comment ... it meant a lot to both of us.
Minor correction: it's a cash register key
