I’ve been stitching a fair linen on deadline, hoping to get it done in time to put on the altar at St Liz for Easter …
The cloth is 100” x 26” and is being hemstitched at 20 stitches per inch. I’m loving every minute … but it’s taking a fair bit of time!
Don and I have also been volunteering at the Wildflower Center 2-3 days a week. On an off day, we took our grandkids with us and Parker took a (rare for me) great picture …
Thanks P!
Liz~ She did take a great photo!!! Your stitches are so rhythmic and calming to look at - their consistency a much needed balm to these days. Beautiful, beautiful grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteOoops, that was me, Nancy
DeleteWhat happy and glorious photos. Why the state of Texas should use them on billboards,to promote the wondrous beauty of the Texas Hill Country featuring the state's flower, the Bluebonnet as well as showcasing such a fine family. Liz, these photos brought back some good memories of Rich and I going in search of bluebonnets when we lived in the Hill Country. This is Marti who would like to be sitting in the field next to all of you.
ReplyDeleteLiz, your patience astounds me! That will look so beautiful on the alter. Can’t wait to see it. And what splendid pictures of you and Don, and the grandkids, too! Lisa
ReplyDeletegreat photographs of you 2 and the 3 grandchildren
ReplyDeletethe altarcloth is awesome, I absolutely love those stitches
That IS a great picture. The thought of stitching in such even detail and on a deadline no less makes me want to flee like my hair is on fire. But I am sure you are up to it and then some! ~ Dee
ReplyDeleteYour picture taken by Parker is beautiful. And the beauty and perfection of your stitches never ceases to amaze me. The grandchildren look like terrific kids. By
ReplyDeleteDon't know where the "By" came from. Oh well . . .
ReplyDeleteProjects like that always shock me at the end. And those two lovely photos need printing and framing💗
ReplyDeleteLinen is a joy to stitch, flowers always beautiful (that blue!), and those two images of family are keepers. :) Deb G
ReplyDeleteFine stitching for fine linens....nice job! Those pictures are great.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all for coming by ... the hemming is done, but I still have five crosses to embroider ... tick tick tick
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed visiting with you at the Wildflower Center. Excellent portraits in the blue bonnets!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I didn't mean to comment as Anonymous...should be as me, Betty McCreary
ReplyDeleteYeah, commenting on blogs is always an adventure 😉
DeleteLucky us to be able to have the Wildflower Center so close at hand … complete with delightful fellow travelers, of which you most certainly are one!
(((Liz))) so good to see you & Don and your fine stitching is exquisite as always !
ReplyDeleteHi LA - wow that linen sewing task is some effort- a lot of love will be embedded in the cloth. I imagine the bees would just love those flowers; and what a visual experience for the grandchildren - memory making. Go well. B
ReplyDeleteDear Liz,
ReplyDeleteThe photos of you and your grandchildren are very beautiful. It's the best thing that could have happened to us.
The altar cloth is a masterpiece. I wouldn't have the patience. Maybe in two years, when I retire. I like to decorate our altar at services. I prefer to use plants from our surroundings.
I wish you a blessed Easter. Best, Katja
