Happy New Year

Ten years ago when I turned 60 I blogged everyday …

Five years later I made it halfway through 2021 (and all the way through turning 65) …

So here I am, contemplating a third try for my 70th after a year when I barely showed up (because 2025 absolutely did not inspire). Which is to say, no promises … but I dare to hope that 2026 could be different.

As always, I find inspiration from Kindred Spirits. Today’s inspiration comes from Fiona Dempster in Australia …

May each and every one of us experience peace, joy, and wellness in the year to come!

  1. Thank you Liz for the warm wishes for 2026. Joy and peace, as well as wellness, are so essential but the first two have been hit and miss in 2025. Although I tend to hold an optimist viewpoint, I am sure that, at least for the first half of 2026, this hit and miss will continue, at least until the midterms! You will turn 70 later this year and will honor this time by more blog posting. I, on the other hand, will be close to ending my 70's, I will be79 in September. In thinking about the year ahead, I've decided to use less words; to give myself a year of quiet. After a year of many emails, singular and group, as well as story filled blog comments, the need to sit back, read, "listen" looms large and I am calling this coming year, a year of quiet contemplation and introspection, something I've needed to do for the past few years.

  2. Marti - “Listen” is a challenging discipline, one I’ve tried to practice more than once. That said, “quiet” is a blessing in a world where there is too much noise.

  9. Happy New Year Liz! I, too, would love to hear from you more often, but also understand the lack of inspiration that this last year has engendered. Also, complaints from me are a pot calling the kettle black. This is Dana.
