Patch #195 Amy's Ice Cream

Original Post

Go out for ice cream (but not too often, or it's not special) ...

Make something (homemade strawberry jam, anyone?) ...

and play outside (tennis being the latest of many sports) ...

There's also FaceTime with cousins (in St Louis), make a ramp (out of blocks), go swimming (at the neighborhood pool), help Nana (unload dishwasher, put away clothes, pick up toys), make lunch with Pop Pop (PBJ on tortillas), read books (from the library), play cards (war, go fish), and take a nap (not limited to those under the age of five).

    1. It's the essence of simplicity. Hull and cut up 1quart of ripe berries. Put in a saucepan with 1/3 cup sugar and a splash of water. Bring to a boil and turn down to a simmer. Mash occasionally as it cooks (a metal masher is ideal as it cuts up the berries much more efficiently). It's done when the juices hang on the edge of a spoon rather than dripping. Probably 15 minutes or so. Be forewarned, I'm fond of very soft-set jam ...
