It's a cloth-in-progress made from linen shirt plackets and a repurposed linen table cloth hem. I had the idea as we drove the 750 miles from St Louis to San Marcos, and my fingers fairly itched to try it once we got home.
I'm hoping it will ultimately serve as a base for a new handbag/tote, but it has a long way to go. Meantime, we're getting ready for guests, so posts on progress will take a while to appear.
But fear not, fun will be had!
Welcome home Liz!
ReplyDeleteGrateful for your safe travels. The placards are a wonderful idea.
Colors remind me fondly of the Southwest. Blessings to you and Don.
Thanks Sue ... it's good to be home (for the moment)
ReplyDeletethose buttonholes make openings or closings, I wonder what you will do with them?
ReplyDeleteWell you might wonder ... right now I'm backing them with contrasting fabric, but I'm also going to add a lot of stitch to hold everything together and reduce the stripe-y feel
