Update: WordPress is back to rights, so I will be putting links to new posts at https://imgoingtotexas.home.blog in abbrieviated form here ... now I just have to get back to actually writing those new posts (ha!)
-------------------------------------------------
I don’t know if this is going to work … WordPress (which autocorrect accurately changed to WeirdPress), simply won’t load photos. So I’m going to try posting here on my old Blogger site.
The Remember 2021 project is now many weeks behind for a number of reasons. One reason was our fantastic, first-time-in-two-years trip to St Louis, another was the distraction of an excellent online watercolor course by Tansy Hargan entitled Finding your Colour Voice …
love seeing your colour charts & good to see you back here!
ReplyDeleteglad to be back ... but wasn't able to reply from my iPhone ... nothing's perfect ... ever
DeleteI have had a free blog with Wordpress since 2011 and it's always been easy to use, whenever there's a problem it seems to be with the websites and domain names they host that people have to pay for!
DeleteOh Liz...I love these little blocks of color! Even if it is 'coursework' - it looks like art to me :) Your patch is a great representation! So much color in your world right now!
ReplyDeleteI've been having a lot of fun slowly working through the two weeks worth of classes, but there's no rush ...
DeleteLA - yes good to see you are back - great to see that from time to time we tend to go back and play with the basic again - enjoying colour.Go well. B
ReplyDeleteWe'll see how long it lasts ... I'd like to get back to WordPress
DeleteThere is so much to learn about colour (which I have never studied, maybe that's why I stick with white a lot!!??). So sorry about the Wordpress uploading and the blogger no phone commenting. It is beyond stressful and so unnecessary. I hope you can find your way to continuing here...or there and love the chirpiness of that patch to be!
ReplyDeletefortunately not so much stressful as annoying ... and yes, I too have never formally studied art, so this is a chance to "go back to school"
DeleteWeird press. Ha!! Can’t wait to see more. I haven’t had the photo problem yet.
ReplyDeletehopefully you won't have the problem in the future either ... I need to do a little research and see if others are having the same issues and what possible solutions there might be
DeleteI can only imagine the hassles of blogging...but thank you for continuing and for putting your color patches here, giving a "rainbow" voice of brightness in these ever dreary days of so much uncertainty, heartbreak and chaos.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is I think I have figured out how to make WordPress behave by giving the app "permission" to access my camera as well as my photos ...
Deleteas for "uncertainty, heartbreak and chaos," I dare to hope that the young people will rise up and fight the paternalistic nonsense that calls itself the Republican party ... I'll be right there with them, holding my "Hippie Nana for peace, love and ___ (fill in the blank)" sign when they do ... together we will be a force to be reckoned with
Bless Us. ALL. For Everything and in Everything. Just Bless Us.
ReplyDeleteI understand distractions, find them all the time. :)
ReplyDeleteI rather prefer the productive kind, but am much too easily easily drawn to screens
DeleteGlad you are back here
ReplyDeletelikewise so good to see you, too
Deletedo you like using the Inktense Blocks?
ReplyDeleteI do ... with some caveats ... controlling the amount of water versus the saturation of the dye color is the trickiest part ... it's virtually impossible to control bleed with linen (which is my preferred cloth), but if I iron cotton cloth onto freezer paper, I can get a semblance of control ... I wait at least a day, then heat set the color before handwashing the cloth ... it's actually a good thing that some of the dye washes out ... all of which I'll repeat in a process post on the new blog ... soon, I hope
Deletemaybe you are a full spectrum gal
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated by how many colors there can be
DeleteLove that you have your watercolors out!
ReplyDeleteHazel's daily watercolors have long inspired me to try something ... this class by Tansy Hargan was just what I needed to actually do it ... that somewhat explains my lack of blogging as I am deep into learning, which doesn't lend itself to posting results quite yet
