First and foremost, sending metta to those in the west coast facing the wildfires and to those in the midwest and east coast shoveling snow. This is one of those times when I’m especially grateful that we live in Texas.
I’m pleased to say that my New Year’s resolution to stitch one peace pin a day has held up so far …
However, I’ve been less successful at my other resolution to walk every day. Hence, the second one of the following screen shots seems particularly appropriate …
Last, but not least, we had a great day with Griffin recently, notable especially for making my favorite shortbread and a great new hot cocoa recipe from Sugar Spun Run …
And I almost forgot to show you a couple of the Christmas presents that have taken up residence by my stitching chair …
Such fun!!

Love those little peace pins π
ReplyDeleteThey are saving my sanity, one pin at a time
DeleteHi LA - great that the stitching is going according to plan - not enough time for walking right? Lovely having aq special helper in the kitchen. Fold up sewing storage looks interesting - it will be good to see if it always gets tidied and closed when you finish a stitch session!!! Go gently. B
ReplyDeleteB - Ha! You know me well!
DeleteDon't be too hard on yourself with the resolutions! The peace pins are beautiful, and would make a great mindfulness exercise for me. Thanks for the good laughs and positivity!
ReplyDeleteI’m curious who this might be as your link goes to a commercial enterprise
DeleteHi Liz, I understand your curiosity. I'm the owner of El Paso County Chem-Dry, a locally owned and operated carpet cleaning company in Colorado Springs, CO. While we are apart of a franchise, I'm also personally passionate about crafting, needle work, and the great state of Texas, which is how I found your wonderful blog. I especially liked your recent post about the wine bottle label you made! As a business owner myself, I know your gift meant the world to them.
DeleteI love those peace pins too! So much domestic peace here. Love to visit. ~ Dee
ReplyDeleteHaving grandkiddos is the greatest excuse to indulge my sweet tooth
DeleteLiz~ The pins look great, such pretty colors. "farm" and "try" caught my eye this time. How nice to have one-on-one time with Griffin π Take care
ReplyDeleteThe best part of this iteration of the peace pin project is the ever-changing word combos
DeleteHi Liz….I LOVE my farm peace pin! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteJeanne - I’m so glad it made it to northern California
DeleteI heard that there is snow in Texas and Georgia- I hope it isn’t landing in your area. A peace pin a day is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for you concern, but we are fortunate to be in the Austin metro and so far so good ... as for the daily peace pins, I usually make them in the mid-afternoon, when we used to watch Nicole Wallace on MSNBC ... seems like a fair trade
DeleteAll that wonderful energy you are putting out into the world! I bought myself that book...how could I not? :) Deb G
ReplyDeleteIt is a tribute to the community of kindred spirits that I have been fortunate enough to communicate with a couple of the people profiled ... likewise to now be able to find out about others who might also be bloggers
